Privacy Policy
SnapGhar is a private family photo-sharing app where one daily family photo can appear on your Android home screen widget. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: phone number (OTP sign-in) and any optional profile details you add (name, profile photo).
- Family & group data: family group membership, roles (e.g. admin), join requests, and settings such as widget theme configuration and optional widget wallpaper.
- User-generated content: photos you upload for your family and reactions (e.g. ❤️ 😂 🙏).
- Device/app signals: app/device identifiers needed for reliability (for example, push notification tokens used to refresh widgets).
- Local device storage: the app may store temporary cached images (for widget previews and faster loading) on your device.
- Ads data (if ads are shown): SnapGhar integrates Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Ad networks may collect device identifiers and related signals as described in their policies.
2. How we use your data
- Provide the core service: family groups, photo sharing, widget updates, reactions.
- Secure your account and prevent abuse.
- Maintain and improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
3. Firebase services we use
SnapGhar uses Google Firebase as our backend infrastructure:
- Firebase Authentication: to sign you in (e.g. phone OTP, email-based login where supported).
- Cloud Firestore: to store family groups, photo metadata, widget settings, and reactions.
- Firebase Storage: to store uploaded photos securely.
- Cloud Functions: to run backend logic (e.g. sending widget refresh signals, account deletion processing).
4. Ads (Google AdMob)
SnapGhar may display banner and/or interstitial ads. We use Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to load and show ads. AdMob and its partners may collect and use information such as device identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data to provide and measure ads, in accordance with Google’s policies.
5. How sharing works
Your photos and reactions are shared only inside your private family group. We do not provide a public feed, public profiles, or discovery features.
6. Data retention
We retain data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we permanently delete your account data as described below, subject to technical constraints and legal requirements.
7. Security practices
- Access is controlled by Firebase Authentication and security rules.
- Private family data is restricted to your family membership.
- We follow least-privilege principles for backend operations.
8. Account deletion
You can request permanent deletion of your account and associated data using our dedicated deletion page.
Go to Delete Account.
When deletion is completed, we permanently delete (best-effort) your Authentication account, your Firestore user profile, your reactions, your uploaded photo metadata, and associated Storage images. We also remove your family membership references (and if you are the last family member, the family data may be deleted as part of cleanup).
